Special Features of AL6XN Stainless Steel Tubing

AL6XN Stainless Steel Tubing is known for its high strength, excellent corrosion resistance property and many more features which are as follows-

  • AL6XN Gas Tube is one of the best Stainless Steel Tubing which has high strength and rigidity.
  • AL6XN has high weldability, It meets all the welding standards which can be welded using any welding techniques.
  • AL6XN Stainless Steel Tubing has outstanding corrosion resistance property at high temperatures to crevice corrosions.

Why you Should use AL-6XN and its Benefits?

AL-6XN is the primary choice of the customers, because, it is a super austenitic alloy which exhibits excellent resistance. At the time, when a high concentration of chlorides, acidic pH levels, high temperature, and time of contact is introduced to the process, AL-6XN comes in 300 alloys series which include 316L/1.4435 and 304. ASME BPE standards accredited this alloy AL-6XN. The use of this alloy is rapidly increasing, because it offers a good return on investment by decreasing the loss of product and maintenance time repairing and replacing corroded parts. Because of many reasons, AL-6XN alloy attracts too many industries, it exhibits excellent corrosion resistance, cost-effective and easily available. The reason why industries prefer this alloy is that it offers a high return on investment and resistant. In 304 and 316 stainless steel, AL-6XN alloy exhibits strongest corrosion resistance in the forms of the crevice, pitting, and stress corrosion cracking.

  • This alloy is very useful as it is resistant in hot and cold conditions to corrosion from different acids and salt solutions.
  • It provides many cost benefits.

Classifications of AL6XN Tube

AL6XN Seamless and Welded Tubes are classified into followings tubes-

  • AL6XN Welded Tube
  • AL6XN Seamless Tube

Final Take

In today’s market, there are many kinds of super austenitic, nickel-based alloys are available which offers excellent corrosion resistance. But other than corrosion resistance, many other factors should also be kept in mind while selecting such alloys. Good mechanical properties, fabrication characteristics of alloy and commercial availability should also be taken into consideration.

Strength, Uses and Properties of 4130 Tubing

Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon which is considered as the strength of almost every city. Because of its high tensile strength and low cost, it is used in ships, trains, buildings, infrastructure, cars, machines, electrical appliances, Aircraft & Aerospace and in many other fields. Due to its versatile properties, it is influencing the world of metal. It is highly beneficial and has a high-strength application that is why it has been outlined in several grades of steel including 4130 tubing which is built for specific uses by American Iron Steel Institute (AISI) and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). These are classified into 3 to 5-digit identifiers.

Because 4130 steel has an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and is considerably stronger and harder, it is commonly used alloy steel for many projects. 4130 tubing is not only harder than 1026 tubing but also has low carbon content, and its machines as quickly as 1018 carbon steel tubing. The only reason why 4130 tubing is the primary choice of the clients is that it is highly effective, flexible and provides many fabrication advantages. In this article, we will explore the strength and properties of 4130 steel. Besides this, this article will also help readers regarding why they should select 4130 steel and whether it will be fit for their specific jobs or not.

Industries Using 4130 TUBING –

The industries, which are using 4130 tubings are as follows-

  • Military
  • automotive
  • machine tools
  • auto racing
  • Aircraft
  • Hydraulic lines and tools
  • motorcycle and bicycle frames

Know About The 4130 Steel’s Strength and Properties-

The AISI and SAE outline 4130 steel for its specific uses. The class of steel is designated by the alloy’s first digit, which includes one of its major alloying component(s). In contrast, the second digit represents the relative percentage of the alloying element. The last two digits represent the carbon concentration by 0.01%. 4130 steel is considered the part of the chromium-molybdenum steels with approximately 1% molybdenum/chromium. This high strength steel also includes 0.30% carbon. As per the study, it is found that 4130 steel is alloyed with 0.28 – 0.33% Carbon, 0.7 – 0.9% Manganese, 0.15 – 0.35% Silicon, 0.8 – 1.1% Chromium, 0.15 – 0.25% Molybdenum, less than and equal to 0.035% Phosphorus and less than and equal to 0.04 % Sulphur.

4130 steel is one of the best examples of low carbon steel; it has 0.28 – 0.33% Carbon with tolerance. It is useful in many ways, as it is 7.85 g/cm3 (0.284 lb/in3) in density and provides advantage from its heat-treatment hardening. The best thing about 4130 steel is that it is weldable in all commercial methods, and it can be easily machined in its tempered condition.

Final Take

4130 steel is one of the strongest and harder steels with excellent strength. It has 205 GPa of modulus of elasticity and it cannot be bent easily and can return to its original form which is considered a great characteristic. The main objective of 4130 steel is to remain rigidly in place. Therefore, it is the primary choice of industries.
